Early 20th century decoy duck with original paint, c. 1930s/40s
Long before they became collectible objects, decoy ducks were made as practical hunting tools and designed to withstand harsh weather and repeated use. Their worn surfaces, repaired bodies, and softened paint are all part of that working life.
This one is a nice bold example helped by sharp paint colour contrasts and a really solid construction.
